Compatible with JCB3DX, PC55, EX12, EX15, PC35 excavators and designed for 4 to 20 ton excavators.
What is a Hydraulic Thumb?
Transform your excavator from basic digging to complete material handling with the AMI Attachments Hydraulic Thumb. This attachment makes it easier to pick, hold, and move awkward materials such as rocks, concrete, branches, and debris that don't fit into the bucket.
Proper Mounting Location
Center the base plate horizontally on the excavator arm, clamp it in place ensuring full contact, then tack weld in 4-6 places on each side. Mount the thumb and stabilizer arm by placing the top stabilizer pin in the rear hole of the adjustment bracket.
Thumb vs. Grab Comparison
While a hydraulic thumb enhances material handling, it's not a direct replacement for a hydraulic grab. The thumb doesn't allow bucket rotation and has a smaller range of rotation compared to hydraulic grabs, which offer superior positioning for wide-range grabbing applications.
